Living with a mental health condition can make ordinary days harder than they look. Our mental health support provides practical, respectful help at home, so adults can keep a steady routine, stay connected to the people around them and remain independent.

Mission Healthcare supports adults across Dartford and north Kent who are living with conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress or an eating disorder. Support can range from a few visits a week to live-in care, and can be combined with personal care or companionship care where that helps.

We are not a clinical mental health service. We work alongside your GP, community mental health team or care coordinator rather than replacing them. You decide how and when your support is provided, and we build your care plan around your routines, goals and preferences. Our service is overseen by a UK-qualified doctor and a registered nurse.

How we can help

Household tasks, laundry and shopping

Company and conversation to reduce isolation

Encouragement to keep up hobbies, exercise and social contact

Support to manage post, bills and paperwork

Help to follow a plan agreed with your care coordinator

Respite for family carers

Support that works at your pace

Good mental health support is about encouragement, not pressure. Our carers turn up when they say they will, learn how you like things done, and support you to do as much for yourself as you feel able to on any given day. Some weeks need more support than others, and we will agree a plan that can flex with you.

Keeping safe and well at home

Small, steady things make the biggest difference: eating properly, sleeping, taking medication as prescribed and keeping the home manageable. Our carers help with all of these and tell the office if something changes. If we are worried about your safety we follow our safeguarding policy and contact the people named in your care plan. In an emergency always call 999, or call 111 and choose the mental health option for urgent NHS advice.

How to arrange mental health support in Dartford

1. Get in touch. Call us on +44 7470 367 720 or send us a message. We will talk through the support you are looking for and answer any questions.

Support for families and carers

Supporting someone with a mental health condition can be exhausting, and families often carry it alone. We can provide respite care so family members who help with care can take a break, and we are happy to work alongside community mental health teams, support workers or personal assistants already in place.

Funding mental health support

Support is often funded by Kent County Council following a free care needs assessment, and many people use direct payments to choose their own provider. You may be eligible for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) if you are 16 or over and under State Pension age. If you have been detained under certain sections of the Mental Health Act, you may also be entitled to free section 117 aftercare. Care can also be paid for privately, and we will give you a clear, no-obligation quote. We provide mental health support in Dartford, Greenhithe, Wilmington, Longfield, Swanley, Crayford, Bexley, Bexleyheath, Erith, Sidcup, Gravesend and Northfleet.
